Mulberries have a mild sweet flavor that is similar in taste to dried goji berries and figs. These berries are dried so they have a slightly crunchy texture. Mulberries are best when fresh, but if you want to change things up, dry them—or purchase them dried. OR buy this one because it really offers different use of mulberries. I have never seen this version of mulberries online or in stores so I was actually excited to see it here. They make a wonderful snack on their own, but they also enhance granola and trail mix as well as baked goods, like muffins. Use them just as you would other dried fruits for something new.

First things first: these are not sausages. I know, they also remind me of sausages. Essentially, churchkhela are nuts covered in dried grape fruit mixed with flour. This one includes walnuts in it. walnut are threaded together using a long string, giving the treats their distinctive sausage (some say candle) look. Importantly, no sugar is used, all natural.

Kadaif is very similar with baklava if you know but it also very different as well. It is served in different ways, and can be eaten hot or cold. Both ways work very well with it but I prefer hot serve. When it is cold I think the syrup gets more stiff. Greek kataifi is a cousin to baklava, a similar combination of chopped nuts and crispy dough soaked in syrup, only instead of being made with thin, stacked sheets of phyllo dough, kataifi is made with what is commonly described “shredded phyllo”: fine strands of dough wrapped around a nut filling like a little bundle.
