    Dates are sweet fruits of date palm tree scientifically known as Phoenix dactylifera, cultivated across tropical region. Dates are a good source of energy and contains fiber, sugar, and various vitamins and minerals.  Essential minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and zinc and vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin A, and vitamin K can be found in them.

    Sukkeriye date is also known as  “the Queen of Dates”. Because of the high sweetness, sukkeriye, meaning sugar, was given as a name to this date. Sukkeriye dates have medium size, light brown color, thin shell and soft structure.
