Walnuts are the only nuts that belong in baklava! well done! I always prefer walnut baklavas rather than pistachio ones. Baklava takes forever and patience to make! So with all my respect, this is a true art form of a desert. The rest of the flavor is imparted to the Baklava via the syrup that is poured over it. AMAZING. Yeah my mom makes baklava herself on special occasions and it always takes up almost the entire day. You also need to have quite the arm strength to roll the dough thinly as possible, almost see through. And you need a LOT of those thin layers. Only Greek baklava uses honey. Turkish baklava you make a syrup for it. Also real baklava you roll the dough that you make from scratch. This one is a true turkish baklava. My family usually makes 40-50 trays a year around the holidays. 2020 didn't allow for that to happen so we order from here and like it very very much.
