I once visited Antep and it has the best baklava in Turkey hands down. This one reminded of that one. As soon as I have seen handmade title I wanted to order and try it. The thickness of the layers were perfect. It was neither Too thick or too thin. I was happy very happy with the pistachio ratio. You could really tell that it was handmade. In any baklava the key flavor comes from the nuts that are used. The common choices are Pistachio, Walnut and Almond, so those are going to be the largest contributor to flavor in the Baklava. Getting high quality nuts is essentially, you do not want any burnt, or over roasted flavors in your baklava as there's no place to hide. My personal favorite is using toasted walnuts, as the flavor is mellow and less intense than pistachios or almonds. This one really provides that delicious flavors of great walnuts. This is the superior form of baklava. I had it at Karaköy Güllüoğlu in Istanbul one time and since then, I am in love.

This man needs more awards for the sheer time this takes. It is sooo hard to cook this desert I once saw it in a decumentary and it was very painful to watch because I craved it so hard. One time I couldnt help myself and tried to cook it myself but no, I couldnt even come a bit close to the original taste. I cannot find any store nearby that sells good baklava so I ordered it and liked it very much. The taste the slices and portions are all well done. I will order more for sure. I hope the price gets a bit cheaper in the future.

It’s not very difficult from what I’ve heard, just takes time as you have to put down tons of layers. Also keeping the dough from tearing can sometimes be a pain. Just buy pre-made frozen phyllo dough, I’ve never made it homemade, but I’ve heard it’s a dreadful experience. Oh man, my old neighbor (which is now my best friend) used to make this. I can eat the entire of that on my own! Now that I found it here on gourmeturca my wishes are fulfilled, literally. I loved the taste of it. It is a true professionally made desert.

Baklava is Turkish (from the Ottoman empire so not just turkey got it) That's the best thing you can ever taste. Baklava is proof that there is a god. Man, my boyfriend lives in Turkey and since the pandemic started I’m really craving Turkish food like mad, can’t wait to have some fresh baklava there again and again! My favorite turkish dessert, goes very well w whipped cream or ice cream! So this is what I’ve been eating in dying light! It could be a lil more cheaper tho.
